From lost landmarks to cultural undercurrents, explore the city’s lesser-known past through engaging storytelling that brings forgotten voices back to life on the streets they helped shape.
Beginning at Perth Town Hall and finishing at Moort-ak Waadiny / Wellington Square, this guided walk traces the layered history of Perth’s east end through sites that reveal the city’s civic ambition, formal power, reinvention and everyday human stories. Along the way, guests will encounter places such as State Buildings, Council House, Government House, the Hay Street pedestrian-priority area, the Royal Perth Hospital heritage precinct, St Mary’s Cathedral and the revitalised east-end precinct around Kaal yimniny. This is a tour about hidden layers — from Whadjuk Nyoongar place and colonial foundations to contested modern buildings, places of care, and public spaces shaped for community use today.
