Fall in love with the historic East End of the city, uncover its remarkable stories and enjoy a leisurely walk with like-minded people on a lovely Saturday morning in Perth. Once the old gritty end of Perth, the east end has been revitalised into new precincts and home to icons such as Matagarup Bridge and the “World’s Most Beautiful” Stadium.

Meet your friendly guide at WELLINGTON SQUARE - on the corner of Hill St & Wellington St . We’ll chat about the Wellington Square redevelopment, new developments and the old Perth Girls School which became home to the Traffic Police.  Wander the vicinity of the Colonial Cemeteries and discover the lost history of the Chinese Cemetery, the hidden Jewish Cemetery and historic headstones of the Anglo Cemeteries.

Meander through the tree lined streets of residential East Perth to Victoria Gardens, looking over the Swan River, Matagarup Bridge and Perth Stadium. Take an art walk along the beautifully landscaped Claisebrook Cove, which was once the sewage outlet into the river for the Swan River Colony, then pop into the old warehouse district where the Boans Warehouse still stands – now apartments surrounded by fantastic venues including City Farmcafes, breweries and even a whiskey distillery!

The tour concludes at a Yellow CAT bus stop at 12.30pm but feel free to stay on and explore some more, perhaps grab lunch at City Farm, a coffee from a cafe or something stronger at Bright Tank Brewing Co, Whipper Snapper or The Royal on the Waterfront.
